The government has recently announced a new initiative which asks Australians to think about how healthy their diets actually are and the effect this can have on overall wellbeing.

A new rating system has been introduced, making it easier for the public to better understand how what they eat can effect their health. Assistant Minister for Health Fiona Nash explained the thinking behind this new Health Star Rating system.

The Australian government is set to roll out a Community Awareness initiative to help the wider population better understand the issues surrounding organ donation.

The Organ and Tissue Authority (OTA) was set up in 2009 as a way for the government to better manage organ donors - and their specific wishes - across the country. This latest announcement will see over $462,000 provided to over 22 organisations which have the remit of increasing interest and helping Australians better understand what it means to become an organ donor.

When planning for the future, it is pivotal to secure against the most obvious threats, as well as the not so conspicuous ones.
